Abstract: The paper examined the productivity of bio-technical factors and technical efficiency of aquaculture production in Ondo State, Nigeria. Primary data were collected from 120 fish farms selected from ten Local Government Areas of Ondo State using multistage sampling technique. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and stochastic frontier production function analysis. Results of the study showed that the bio-technical factors were important in aquaculture production and their productivities could be improved upon by expanding production from its present level so that Returns to Scale could move from stage I to stage II of the production function region. The study further revealed that technical inefficiency effects accounted for about 65% variation in the output of aquaculture in the study area. Also, the farmers were relatively technically efficient with mean technical efficiency of 0.83 and about 59% having technical efficiency > 0.80.
