Abstract: The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has made minimum guidelines and standards to be followed by the member countries through Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) 1978 as amended to have a uniform system for Maritime Education and Training. This study looks into some ways of improving the Indian Maritime Education and Training in order to produce employable seafarers.
