A Sociological Study of Human Migration and Institutional Structural Change: A Case Study of Faisalabad City

Abstract: The aim of study was to investigate the causes of human migration and its functional and structural changes in social and economic institutions. The study was conducted in three areas of Faisalabad city. Mohamdia Colony, Al-Fiaz and Tuhdi wala were selected through simple random sampling technique. A total number of 120 respondents were selected conveniently. From the three selected areas, 40 respondents were selected for interview. Majority of the respondents were migrated from rural areas to urban due to economic reasons. A change in social and economic institutions was found due to change in social and economic set up.
