Authors : Md Rafiqul Islam and 1Md Abdul Latif

Abstract: The Middle East Peace is the most desired goal not only to the people of the Arab States but also to the people of the whole world. This is the long lasting and protracted conflict, which has been continuing since the creation of Zionist Israel State. Many peace proposals have been put forward but few brought positive results. The Oslo peace process was the landmark for the resolution of this conflict but did not carry the positive result. Recently the ‘Road Map` peace plan has come as a last resort to settle down the conflict between the Arabs and Israel. But within very short time a deep shadow has engulfed the future of the peace plan. This article, thus, traces the current situation of Middle East conflict and the peace effort from Oslo to the Road Map for the settlement of the conflict. Attention has also been directed towards investigating the prospects, opportunities and challenges for establishing Palestine State after the declaration of the Road Map peace accord.
