Disconnected and Distributed Workflow System Based on P2P

Authors : Lee-Sub Lee , Soo-Hyun Park and Doo-Kwon Baik

Abstract: This paper presents disconnected and distributed architecture of the workflow management system based on P2P. P2P dramatically reduces the load of servers and provides excellent disconnected service. However it provides just simple functions like a file sharing currently. By supporting more intelligent workflow level interaction capability, P2P based workflow system makes more distributed architecture possible than C/S, CORBA, and HTTP based workflow system and provides easy implementation of disconnected service. Therefore this provides scalable, reliable, and high performance workflow framework. This paper briefly summarizes the recent trends in the existing workflow researches and their implementation technologies. This paper presents principal architecture, connection management, use case, recovery algorithms and comparisons with existing systems on performance and memory requirements.
