Abstract: Data warehouses have been an interesting field for computer scientists for more than twenty years. Development of huge data repository, managing, controlling, and analyzing the data and presenting valuable information for decision maker, was the main goal and dream for many concerned people from the start of this idea. History of data warehouses help analysts, designers and implementers to understand current data warehouses and as well to have a clear idea of data warehouses. The issue of making use of the huge amounts of data is extracting the information that we need in an efficient way makes the data warehousing the right choice for many to go for. In our study we tried to focus on the data warehousing from its beginning till now and we continue to make a view on the future of this field.
