Abstract: In the past few decades, considerable efforts have been devoted to the phenomenon of wave-seabed interaction in ocean engineering. However, conventional approach has been focused on the wave nonlinearity. On the other hand, most previous works have only concerned with seabed response under the wave pressure obtained from the assumption of a rigid seabed. In this study, the software package of “Mathematica” treated of wave-seabed interaction for a porous seabed of infinite thickness and a new wave dispersion relationship based on Biot’s poro-elastic theory. The numerical results indicate that the variations in soil parameters may significantly affected wave characteristics (such as the damping of water wave, wavelength and wave pressure) in shallow water.
