Abstract: In the current generation of heterogeneous wireless network environment, a glut of access networks has to be interconnected in a fine way to meet for all time the best connected concepts. Lately, Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) has been an IP network support mobility management protocol which does not occur any modification of Mobile Nodes (MN). During the process of handover several parameters are affected by this such as delay, packet loss, handover latency etc. There are various vertical handover decision making algorithms to recover this problem but still, its a challenging one. In this study, we analyzed the operational doctrine of various handover decision algorithms and present an efficient comparison which aid us to know and to propose a new handover decision algorithm.
