Relationship between eye Colour and Milk Yield in Shami Goats

Abstract: This study was carried out at Research and Training Farm of Mustafa Kemal University in Antakya province of Turkey in order to determine the relationship between different eye colours and milk yield in Shami (Damascus) goats. Goats were allocated into 4 groups according to their eye colours: Goats in Group A have got light brown sclera and black iris with white bar; in Group B have got light brown sclera and black iris rounded with white colour; in Group C have got light brown sclera and black iris; in Group D have got dark brown sclera and black iris. According to the obtained results, a tight relation between eye colour and milk yield was determined in terms of 150 days and 210 days milk yield of goat (P<0.01)
