Some Reproductive Performances of Nili-ravi and Crossbred (Nili-ravi X Local) Buffaloes at Government Buffalo Farm, Bagerhat, Bangladesh

Abstract: This experiment was conducted at Buffalo Breeding And Development Farm, Bagerhat to investigate conception rate, service per conception, gestation period, age at first calving, birth weight, postpartum heat period and calving interval of Nili-Ravi and crossbred buffaloes. It was revealed that average conception rate, service per conception, gestation period, age at first calving, birth weight, calving interval and postpartum heat period were 95.24 %, 88.46%; 1.05, 1.13; 301.486?6.72, 303.200?7.07 days; 61.857?3.44, 63.048?3.89 months; 33.266?3.49, 30.508?3.43 kg; 572.633?116.54, 581.481?94.15 days and 167.800?27.92, 174.500?41.04 days; respectively. It may be concluded that Nili-Ravi buffaloes were better than crossbred buffaloes.
