Analysis of Transient Visual Evoked Potential (TVEP) Using Phase Spectral Periodicity Components

Authors : Sivakumar, R.

Abstract: Transient Visual Evoked Potential (TVEP) is an important diagnostic test for specific phthalmological and neurological disorders. The precision of clinical interpretation depends on the amount of information available. This paper describes the method of classification of normal and abnormal TVEPs based on the phase spectral periodicity using Welchs averaged periodogram method. The phase spectral components of normal and abnormal subjects have been identified using Welchs averaged periodogram method. The phase Spectral periodicity of each subject have been compared with the corresponding latency values measured by the averaging method and results have been presented. The advantage of this method is that one can directly identify the latency more precisely than the magnitude domain method.
