Performance Analysis of the Autonomous Regional Government Through the Public Satisfaction Survey: A Case Study on the Government of Ogan Komering Ilir, South Sumatra, Indonesia

Abstract: Due to the lack of information about current situation and condition in improving the quality of public service, unfortunately, become one of main problems in making policy decision for the Government of Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI). Regarding to this problem, the purpose of this research was to find out the level of public satisfaction with the public services provided by local government. This research used survey data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires to selected respondents and interviews with various sources such as community leaders in the district area as the sample and public official from various local government work unit (the departments, agencies, or offices). The sampling technique used was Table Cohen, Manion and Morrison with total samples taken were 756 respondents. From the result, it can be concluded that: local government performance generaly is still low, it can bee seen from: the perception of public satisfaction about the quality of local government services in general is still low, in general, the public are dissatisfied with the services provided, many people do not use public services provided by local governments, in general, many sectors of public services still need required improvement.
