Abstract: The study presents the outcomes of studies on topical issues concerning statutory registration of the research outcomes in the education sector. Informational support and virtualization of science and education has led to the fact that the objects of intellectual property present a significant share in all outcomes of business processes of the institution created at institutions of science and education that emphasizes the need to develop a single regulation mechanism of statutory sectorial registration of works of science developed by scientific workers and teachers for these institutions. The study has conducted an analysis of aninformative component of the concept "statutory registration" has formulated the meaning of the category "statutory registration of the research outcomes" has investigated the current system of statutory and optional registration of the research outcomes in Russia. The study offers a set of elective tasks which presenta vector of the development of modern society, science and education environment which the accounting, control and promotion systems of the research outcomes have. The study is based on a wide range of topical sources and literature on this issue.
