Ricardo M. Pino and Jorge Pena

Abstract: This study analyzes a case where all members of a subsidiary’s top management team from one of the leading confectionery manufacturers in the world were involved in bill’s fabrication, a millionaire fraud that ended with the subsidiary restructuration. The study presents three perspectives to analyze the events: Business process management, business ethics and normalization of deviance and then, it explores its interrelations. The conclusion is that companies must rely on control and openness to gather early information to detect misbehavior as even people with strong ethics and moral values could be involved in bad corporate practices.
