Relationship of Serum Leptin Concentration to Fat Deposition in Slaughtered Young Camels
Abstract:
Body weight, back-fat thickness and serum leptin concentration were measured in a total of 166 young camels. Serum concentration of leptin increased linearly with body fat and age and highly correlated with back-fat thickness, suggesting that serum leptin content is a good indicator of body fatness in camels.
