The Problems Facing Students at Al Ain University of Science and Technology

Abstract: The study aimed at identifying some problems facing students at Al Ain University of Science and Technology in different types (psychological, academic, economic, social, epidemiological, etc.). The study sample consisted of (122) students who enrolled to study (Bachelor, Higher Diploma, Master) in 2017/2018. To achieve the study goals, the researchers designed a questionnaire to explore possible problems that may face problems faced by the university student. It consisted of (60) items divided into four main axes: administrative, social and economic, academic and psychological problems. The results of the study showed that the most common problems faced the participants are social and economic problems followed by psychological problems and administrative problems and finally came academic problems in the last rank. In addition to the findings of the study, the researchers recommend the establishment of counseling and educational programs to help students overcome their psychological and academic problems and to involve them in social initiatives and activities that gain their self-confidence and practical experience and set their goals and vision for life in a different perspective. And provide financial grants and opportunities that support them during their university career.
