Problems of Aged People: A Study on People of Faisalabad, Pakistan

Abstract: There are generally three major stages in human life. First is childhood second is adulthood and the last one is old age. There are different problems of adjustment in all these phase. Aging starts with birth and is terminated only by death. Aging has been defined as "the total constellation of social, biological and psychological changes that occur in later life". Aging is a gradual process during which critical emotional, physical and social changes occur. The essential task of aging person is the integration of his/her past life experience. Different types of people adjust to aging in different ways. The study was intended to find out the needs and problems of aged people in Faisalabad. The universe selected for the research consisted of people more than 60 years living in Faisalabad District. For this purpose, a purposive sample of 150 respondents was taken. On the basis of a review of the related literature, a comprehensive questionnaire comprising 45 questions was constructed. After aged people living in Faisalabad district. The responses were tabulated and statistical by using chi-square test.
