Impacts of Transport Negative Externalities in Urban Centres of Developing Economy: A Psychosocial Analysis

Abstract: Most of the transport negative externalities that characterised most developing economy due to their unplanned, uncoordinated and unmanaged transport scenarios require attentions of Regional and Transport economists, Planners and other allied disciplines. It is in the light of this, that the study examines a psychosocial analysis of this phenomenon in developing economy like Nigeria. The study through some descriptive and analytical statistical techniques, based on predominantly primary data, recommends among others, that design and management should enhance the sanitary and aesthetic condition of the transport infrastructure, accompanied with compensation for those living within a particular radii from the road in any neigbourhood.
