Abstract: It is universally known that physical activity can be beneficial for physical and mental health. Several studies have indicated that children with hearing impairments possess diminished motor ability and motor skills in comparison with normal hearing children which may lead to less Physical Activity (PA). Therefore, it is necessary to identify the needs and current levels of activity to assess the effectiveness of intervention programs in order to increase physical activity. The main purpose of this article is to identify the factors that could have an effect on Physical Activity (PA) among children and adolescents with Deafness/Hearing Impairments (D/HI). The method used was a review of current studies of physical activity in order to collect the factors that have impact on children and adolescents with D/HI. The result showed that social and environmental factors, physical fitness and psychological factors can lead to an increase in PA. In addition, the literature provided a few studies about physical activity specifically for those with D/HI. From this study, we can conclude that a combination of these factors has been rarely considered in the previous research. Therefore, there is a need to fill this gap in the literature in order to provide decision makers with in-depth understanding of the current needs of children and adolescents with D/HI for the purpose of assessing their needs in different aspects.
